Job Title: Year 2 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)

About the Role We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 2 Class Teacher to join a dedicated team on a maternity cover basis starting in the second half of the Autumn term. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in continuing the high standards of teaching and learning within the Key Stage 1 team.
Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum. Plan and assess pupils' work in accordance with school and national standards. Maintain accurate records of pupils’ progress and contribute to reporting and parent consultations. Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports learning and well-being. Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents. Contribute to the wider school community and participate in school events and activities.
Person Specification Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably in Year 2. Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum, phonics (e.g., Little Wandle/Read Write Inc), and SATs preparation. Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies. A nurturing, reflective, and resilient teaching style. Commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential.
